Individual Therapy
Sometimes we know exactly what is bringing us to therapy. Other times, we simply know that something in our lives isn’t working the way we want it to.
You may be navigating anxiety, a significant life transition, difficulties in your relationships, or patterns that seem to repeat despite your efforts to change them. You may feel stuck or disconnected from yourself, or simply want more clarity about who you are and what matters to you.
Individual therapy offers a space to explore what’s happening beneath the surface and begin to understand yourself and your experiences in new ways.
What brings people to therapy
People seek therapy for many reasons—sometimes because something painful or difficult is happening, and sometimes because they want to know themselves more deeply or make meaningful change.
You don’t need to be in crisis to begin therapy. I work with clients around anxiety, grief and loss, relationship challenges, self-esteem, life transitions, and periods of uncertainty or change. Therapy can also be a place to examine longstanding patterns and questions of identity and meaning, and to consider what might lead to a greater sense of fulfillment and connection.
What therapy with me is like
I work collaboratively with my clients, creating a space where we can be curious about what you’re experiencing and what may be getting in the way of the life you want to live.
Together, we can look at patterns, relationships, and ways of thinking that may no longer be serving you. Sometimes that means developing a new perspective, learning to relate to yourself with greater compassion, or finding new ways to respond to difficult situations.
My approach draws from psychodynamic and attachment theories, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and cognitive and behavioral techniques. I tailor our work to your individual needs, with the aim of helping you develop greater self-awareness, connection, and ease.
